Thrive Canine Services is led by Lisa Large (CDBC, CPDT-KA, SDC) and Nicole Dow (BA, CPDT-KA, SDC) — two of the most credentialed canine behaviour specialists in central Ontario. Lisa holds the Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant (CDBC) designation through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, one of the most rigorous behaviour credentials in the field. Both Lisa and Nicole hold the Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and Service Dog Coach (SDC) credentials.
Our approach is ethical, evidence-based, and individualized. We do not use punishment or aversive techniques. Every plan is built around your dog's history, your household, and your goals.
What We Offer
For dogs with aggression, reactivity, fear, anxiety, resource guarding, separation distress, or complex behaviour history. Lisa Large (CDBC) conducts a thorough behavioural assessment and develops an individualized modification plan.
Learn More →Specialized coaching for handler-dog teams training a service dog in Ontario. Nicole Dow (SDC) guides teams through task training, public access preparation, handler coaching, and navigating Ontario's legal access framework.
Learn More →Supporting physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers with the canine behaviour and service dog knowledge they need to better support their clients and patients.
Learn More →For groomers, veterinary staff, dog walkers, daycare operators, and other pet professionals who want to deepen their understanding of canine behaviour and improve their handling practices.
Learn More →CDBC, CPDT-KA, and SDC credentials verified by independent international bodies. Dog training is unregulated in Canada, so credentials are the only reliable signal of expertise.
We never use punishment, pain, or fear. Our methods are grounded in the science of animal learning and designed to build trust between dogs and their families.
Every dog is different. We build plans around your dog's specific history, temperament, and environment, not one-size-fits-all protocols.
